4. Do you outsource any of the following services to external companies:
• Provision of Residential Medical Officers
• Gastroenterology/Endoscopy

Good Morning,

Request for Information under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act
2002

Thank-you for your Freedom of Information request, please see the response
to your request below:

Q1.      What percentage fill rates (doctors) were reached between January
and present?

A1.      Due to a changeover to the new Brookson VMS in June we are not
able to provide data between January and June 2018 as we no longer have
access to this data. As we do not hold this information it is classed as
an exclusion under section 17 (1) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland)
Act 2002.  The fill rate from 25^th June 2018 is 65%.

Q2.      Does your organisation use a Direct Engagement scheme? If so, who
provides it and when does their contract expire?

A2.      Yes – Brookson – expiry date is 1 April 2020.

Q3.      What percentage of bookings are made outside of the DE model
(non-DE)?

A3.     All bookings are made through the DE model, either through
Brookson or the Board’s payroll.

Q4.      Do you outsource any of the following services to external
companies:

•           Provision of Residential Medical Officers

•           Gastroenterology/Endoscopy

•           Dermatology

•           Radiology

A4.     For Radiology services NHS Ayrshire & Arran outsources to an
external reporting bureau (Medica).

Q5.      Do you use agencies for national and international permanent
doctor and/or nursing recruitment? If so, do you employ nurses from the
Philippines?

A5.    We do not use agencies for national / international permanent
nursing recruitment.  We have previously used recruitment agencies to
source permanent medical staff.

I trust this response is helpful. However, under the Freedom of
Information (Scotland) Act 2002 if you are dissatisfied with our response
you are entitled to request a review. A request for a review must be made
in writing to Mrs Jillian Neilson, Head of Information Governance, NHS

no later than 40 working days from 18 October 2018. You must provide your
name and address for correspondence, details of your original request and
say why you want a review. If our decision is unchanged following a review
and you remain dissatisfied with this, you then have the right to make a
formal appeal to the Scottish Information Commissioner at
