Afghans owed a homelessness prevention duty

Dear North East Lincolnshire Council,

This is a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Please provide me with the following information:

(1.) The total number of Afghans that were housed in temporary accommodation in your local authority as of April 2023 after being resettled under the Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy scheme or the Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme.

(2.) The total number of Afghans who were housed in temporary accommodation under either of the above schemes in your local authority who are now owed a homelessness prevention duty or relief by you.

(3.) If possible, please tell me how many of (2.) are children.

(4.) The total number of Afghans who were housed in temporary accommodation under either of the above schemes in your local authority who the council have prevented or relieved from homelessness.

I can confirm that North East Lincolnshire Council holds the following
information:

 

 1. The total number of Afghans that were housed in temporary
accommodation in your local authority as of April 2023 after being
resettled under the Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy scheme or
the Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme.

 

2 families (4 adults and 5 children)

                     1 of the above families (2 adults and 2 children)
relocated to a city where they had family and friends.

 

 2. The total number of Afghans who were housed in temporary accommodation
under either of the above schemes in your local authority who are now
owed a homelessness prevention duty or relief by you.

 

 

0 as the family are now housed in new build rented

 

 3. If possible, please tell me how many of (2.) are children.

 

 

0 as we currently don’t hold a duty

 

 4. The total number of Afghans who were housed in temporary accommodation
under either of the above schemes in your local authority who the
council have prevented or relieved from homelessness.

 

2 families (4 adults and 5 children)

 

Please note North East Lincolnshire Council is currently actively
progressing the opportunity to secure LAHF round 2 (local authority
housing fund).  This would provide accommodation for up to 8 families. 
Decision pending.

 

If you believe that your request for information has not been handled in

clear about which elements of the Council’s response or handling of the
