We're waiting for RON HAMBLE to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Tendring District Council,

Please could you inform me of the following please.

How many developments of ten or more houses have been completed in Tendring in the last three years.

Of these how many times has Tendring used the S106 option and have had houses given to improve their stock.

If this has not been taken up can a reason be given as to why not.

Of the above, the following schemes secured housing units to be ‘gifted’
to the Council (instead of other forms of affordable housing provision
such as shared ownership, or dwellings sold at a discount to the Council
or a Housing Association):

 

• Bramcote, Thorpe Road, Clacton (3 units gifted)
• Pound Corner, Harwich Road, Mistley (1 unit gifted)
• Break of Day, Great Oakley (1 unit gifted)
• Edwards Drive, Thorrington (1 unit gifted)
• Kidby’s Nursery, Weeley (1 unit gifted)

 

 

 

• If this has not been taken up can a reason be given as to why not?

 

Answer: Developer contributions are negotiated and secured on a case by
case basis and are affected by a number of factors including legislation
and government policy at the time of the application, and viability
considerations relating to the scheme in question. Reasons why certain
developer contributions have or have not been secured in each case are
recorded in the officer report for each Planning application. These can be
viewed (alongside the S106 legal agreement where appropriate) through the
Council’s Public Access portal ([2]link).
