Dear Mr. Stephens,

Thank you for your patience while I gathered the information you requested
in your freedom of Information request.

Having consulted the College Nurse and Wellbeing Advisor I can advise you
we currently do not offer free access to gender dysphoria hormone
treatment or surgery.

We do have a working party looking into a College protocol to clarify a
process for applications for financial contributions towards health and
wellbeing-related costs for students. Where eligible, students can seek
support from their College Tutor (after initial assessment via the College
Nurse and Wellbeing Advisor) in processing an application for such
funding. Tutors may also (where a student is eligible) support students
with applications to the University Crane’s Charity Medical Support Fund.
Financial support has been approved for initial assessment of gender
dysphoria but ongoing hormone treatments and surgical treatments have not
been approved via this route owing to the clear eligibility criteria of
the Crane’s Fund (our College protocol will closely follow this).  For
further information please visit

With regard to chest binders, the JCR allocate part of their (College
provided) budget towards a ‘liberation and equality’ fund, from which
items such as chest binders can be funded via reimbursement. Decisions
about how much budget is allocated to their various funds are made by the
JCR treasurer/committee. Please contact the JCR if you require more
information.

There is also a process for students to change their name and preferred
details on CamSis which is the University’s system for handling student
information and records.

At College level, Peterhouse certainly respects its students' stated
preferences as to name and identity, and would be prepared to assist with
communicating any change of identity to College departments, supervisors
etc, if requested to do so by the student.

Kind regards,
