Adult Volunteer Retention

Air Cadet Organisation did not have the information requested.

Dear Air Cadet Organisation,

Please can you provide a breakdown of:

1. Average service length of adult volunteer Civilian Instructors
2. Average service length of adult volunteer NCOs
3. Average service length of adult volunteer Officers

And their approximate role (Squadron, Wing, etc) in the Air Training Corps (not CCF(RAF)), for each of the years from 2006 to 2011 inclusive, in digital format.

Please also include any documents which consider or investigate adult volunteer retention in the ATC or ACO.

If this request exceeds the cost limit then please reduce the scope to 2008 to 2011 inclusive. If this still exceeds the limit, then reduce the scope to only volunteers at Squadron level.

Yours faithfully,

Clyde Whiting

Air-DRes Sec-ParliBusiness (MULTIUSER),

Dear Air-DRes Sec-ParliBusiness (MULTIUSER),

I accept that you do not record the average service length of volunteer staff. Does the Corps hold joining and leaving dates of its staff in its database(s)?

If so, a simple query of this information would yield the service length of each staff member, from which an average could be calculated.

If that is not possible, but the joining/leaving dates are stored, could that information be released instead?

Yours sincerely,

Clyde Whiting

Dear Air-DRes Sec-ParliBusiness (MULTIUSER),

Thank you for your response and the offer of reducing the scope. The scope restriction wouldn't yield much useful or necessarily representative data. Therefore I don't wish to pursue this. Thank you for your time.

Yours sincerely,

Clyde Whiting
