Adult Social Care Enquiry- supported living criteria
Dear Cumbria County Council,
Please can you provide me with the access criteria for supported living/extra-care facilities across Cumbria?
Please also provide a list of schemes suitable for adults aged over 25 and under 50/55.
I have been unable to find this information on your website or by telephone.
I am particularly interested in access for autistic/vulnerable/traumatised adults who may need this as a stopgap between institutionalisation and eventual independent living, but all access criteria is required.
Thanks in advance
Yours faithfully,
Fiona Goldie

Dear Information Governance,
Thank you for your response, however it does not answer my query.
The factsheet you have linked to is available on your website and I am already aware of its contents.
Having previously worked in Housing I am aware that the County Council DOES hold the information requested
a) because Adult Social Care use the said criteria to assess eligibility for supported housing,
and b) because the County Council complete a Strategic Plan and a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment, both of which require the council to work with partner organisations and stakeholders to map existing services and work to meet projected increases in need and demand. The County Council has a mandatory remit to do this.
With an increased elderly population and a growing awareness of the need to support autistic/LD adults effectively in the community, the council regularly collates information from stakeholders such as Riverside/Home/Turning Point to record the number of available beds in care homes and the number of special needs spaces in supported accommodation, whether that be for mental health, rehabilitation or learning disability needs. Often these spaces are limited by age to the over 55's but there is growing awareness that there is a gap in provision between young people (under 25) and the elderly. As a result, the county council (in line with local government nationally) is working to meet that demand and ensuring that each region of our county can meet the growing support needs of its residents. As the overarching authority the county has access to all housing data from Carlisle, Eden, South Lakes, Allerdale, Copeland and Barrow. Therefore the County Council DOES hold information relating to my request.
The County Council is fully aware of the housing schemes available (in the fact sheet) and which needs they meet, and therefore also knows which schemes are suitable for autistic/vulnerable 25-50 year olds in Cumbria.
Please provide me with this information. Thank you
Yours sincerely,
Fiona Goldie
Dear Information Governance,
Further to last email: to be clear, I am not asking about support provided to someone within their own home- I am specifically asking about self contained accommodation with a warden (sheltered housing).
Yours sincerely,
Fiona Goldie

Dear Information Governance,
A response from Cumbria County Council is long overdue.
You have not replied to my FOI request Adult Social Care Enquiry- supported living criteria, as normally required by law.
Please confirm that you have received my request and tell me when you are going to respond.
Yours sincerely,
Fiona Goldie
Dear Cumbria County Council,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Cumbria County Council's handling of my FOI request 'Adult Social Care Enquiry- supported living criteria'.
I prompted the council for a response previously- this was then, instead, processed as an internal review. I was then told that the person dealing with this review was on annual leave. It seems increasingly unlikely that this is still the case. It does not feel that there is any willingness at CCC to provide the information requested- a simple query regarding availability of LD/ASD accommodation in the county. The Council collates this information as part of its regular Housing Strategy planning and JSNA reports. Please provide this asap- vulnerable people need this information urgently
Thank you
