5. What rates do you pay to adults, who directly employ their own PAs for Overnight Rates -both for sleeping and waking nights and what hours does this payment cover?
6. What Bank Holiday Rates do you pay to adults, who directly employ their own PAs?
7. Are these standard rates that all DP users receive or does the amount paid vary depending on the complexity of need?
8. When were the rates in questions 4, 5 and 6, first set at their current rates?
9. Do you anticipate these rates will be increased, and what to, from April 2017?
10. What is the highest weekly or annual DP and lowest weekly DP you make to fund adult social care?
11. What additional employer costs are funded through these rates eg.

1.      How many adults are you providing social care to now compared with

Service users 6,424 and Carers 936  - Total 7,360

31 March 2016
Service users 6,619  and Carers 1,085 - Total 7,704

 

2.      How many adults receive a Direct Payment to fund their social
care?
There are currently 1,084 adults receiving Direct Payments.

3.      Are there any restrictions on the number of hours adult social
care funding you will fund or are there any plans to introduce a limit?
There are currently no restrictions on the number of hours that the
Authority will provide. The outcomes for each service user is based on
their assessed need.

4.      What are the DP rates that you pay to adults who directly employ
Pas - what are the hourly rates for;
Weekday daytime rates
Weekday evening rates
Weekend daytime rates
Weekend evening rates
The DP rate for all of the above is a flat rate of £11.60 per hour.

5.      What rates do you pay to adults, who directly employ their own PAs
for Overnight Rates -both for sleeping and waking nights and what hours
does this payment cover?
As above, we have a flat rate of £11.60 per hour.

6.       What Bank Holiday Rates do you pay to adults, who directly employ
their own PAs?
As above, we have a flat rate of £11.60 per hour.

7.      Are these standard rates that all DP users receive or does the
amount paid vary depending on the complexity of need?
In cases where the complexity of need is identified within the support
plan (e.g. British Sign Language support worker) and can’t be purchased
within the standard flat rate we will increase the rate. This will vary on
each individual service user.

8.      When were the rates in questions 4, 5 and 6, first set at their
current rates?
The current rate was set in April 2012.

9.      Do you anticipate these rates will be increased, and what to, from
April 2017?
We are not yet able to give any indication of the rate from April 2017.

10.  What is the highest weekly or annual DP and lowest weekly DP you make
to fund adult social care?
The highest rate is £2,680 per week and the lowest is £23.20 per week.

11.  What additional employer costs are funded through these rates eg.
National insurance employer contributions Statutory paid holidays Payroll
charges, Independent living insurance, Advertising, National Minimum Wage
increase from April 2016.
Redundancy payments,
Pensions.
Training.
Contingency funding
All the above are funded from the £11.60 per hour rate. One-off set up
fees (typically £200) are allowed if appropriate.

12.  If pensions are not fully funded using DP rates, how will they be
funded?
