Dear Argyll and Bute Council,

I am carrying out a research project into local government software usage for adult and childrens' social care. Please could you let me know, for each system used in the delivery of adult and children's social care:

1. Name of system and supplier (or if built in-house)

2. What you use the system for (case management, finances, direct payments, personal health budgets, financial assessments, document management etc)

3. How long you have been using the system for

4. When the current contract for the system expires

5. Whether the system is hosted by the council, by the supplier, by a third party or a hybrid of all these options

6. Where the team that supports and maintains the software operates: within the service area, within IT, outsourced, or a different model (please specify).

7. What the annual cost for support and maintenance is for the software

8. How many hours of training is provided per user, per year in using the software and whether this training is delivered in person, remotely or through e-learning.

I refer to your request for information which was dealt with in terms of
the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA).

 

I have provided the following information in fulfilment of your request:

 

1.    Name of system and supplier (or if built in-house)

 

CareFirst provided by OLM.

 

2.    What you use the system for (case management, finances, direct
payments, personal health budgets, financial assessments, document
management etc.)

 

Case management, Assessment, Finance (residential and non-residential
across Adults and Children’s services), Child Protection, Adult Support
and Protection, Learning Disability, NHS, Looked After Children, Criminal
Justice

 

3.    How long you have been using the system for

 

22 years.

 

4.    When the current contract for the system expires

 

The date is currently unknown. We are in the process of transitioning to a
replacement system but there is no fixed timescale.

 

5.    Whether the system is hosted by the council, by the supplier, by a
third party or a hybrid of all these options

 

Hosted by the Council.

 

6.    Where the team that supports and maintains the software operates:
within the service area, within IT, outsourced, or a different model
(please specify).

 

Within IT.

 

7.    What the annual cost for support and maintenance is for the software

 

The annual support and maintenance for the period 01/04/2022 – 31/03/23
was £141,490.56 (including VAT)

 

8.    How many hours of training is provided per user, per year in using
the software and whether this training is delivered in person, remotely or
through e-learning.

 

I have to advise that the information you requested regarding the number
of hours of training is information not held by the Council and as such I
must refuse your request in terms of Section 17 of FOISA.

 

However, in line with the duty placed on the Council in terms of Section
15 of FOISA, I can advise every users is offered eLearning and remote
training.

 

 

If you are dissatisfied with the way in which your request for information
has been dealt with you are entitled to request a review by writing to the
Executive Director Customer Services, Argyll and Bute Council, Kilmory,

Your request for review must state your name and address for
correspondence, specify the request for information to which your request
