Admissions statistics for the History BA (V100)
Dear Durham University,
I would be grateful if you could provide admissions statistics for the following categories:
(1) A percentage breakdown of the predicted grades of successful applicants for the History BA course and Combined Social Science course at Durham University.
For example, hypothetically, 35.4% of applicants given offers for the History BA had predicted grades of AA*A*.
(2) A percentage breakdown of the achieved grades of successful applicants that put down Durham University as their 'firm' choice for the History BA course and Combined Social Science course at Durham University.
The most recent statistics would be preferable, please.
Yours faithfully,
Cecelia Knight

Dear Ms Knight
Thank you for your request for information from Durham University.
Colleagues have provided the information below in response to your
questions.
I would be grateful if you could provide admissions statistics for the
following categories:
(1) A percentage breakdown of the predicted grades of successful
applicants for the History BA course and Combined Social Science course at
Durham University.
For example, hypothetically, 35.4% of applicants given offers for the
History BA had predicted grades of AA*A*.
Note that only A level grades have been presented, and some applicants
have predictions for alternative qualifications or a combination of A
levels and other qualifications. Where some applicants in the table have
predictions for only one or two A levels, it is likely that these
applicants are also taking other kinds of qualification. Applicants who
were making their second UCAS application (and therefore might be applying
with a combination of grades earned and resit qualifications) were
excluded from the analysis. The percentages shown are calculated from the
total number of applicants who were studying at least one A level (not the
full total including those with only alternative qualifications).
For applicants receiving offers on the BA History programme (V100), the
percentage of applicants with each A level grade profile is shown in the
table below. Please note that under section 40 of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 (personal data) the University cannot release
information that may identify individuals. As 4.7% of applicants had a
grade profile that was common to fewer than five applicants, these have
all been excluded to preserve anonymity.

programme (LMV0), the percentage of applicants with each A level grade
profile is shown in the table below. . Please note that under section 40
of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (personal data) the University
cannot release information that may identify individuals. As 10.5% of
applicants had a grade profile that was common to fewer than five
applicants, these have all been excluded to preserve anonymity.
