QM FOI Enquiries, Queen Mary University of London

Dear John Dimitroulopoulos,

We acknowledge receipt of your request. I have numbered parts of it below
for convenience.

Our initial estimate is that fulfilling the whole of your request for a
five year period is likely to exceed the appropriate limit as defined by
the Freedom of Information and Data Protection (Appropriate Limit)
Regulations 2004. For your information this is £450, calculated as the
estimated cost of one person spending 18 hours in determining whether the
information is held, then locating, retrieving and extracting the
information. Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 therefore
makes provision for public authorities to refuse such requests.

However, I can at least indicate at this point that a couple of parts are
not applicable (please see below), so information is not held. Part 4
would require a manual check and so we do not believe this would be
possible even for a single year.

Regarding part 6 on acceptances, do you want the data for all of the items
in this part for UK (home fees) students only, or all applicants? The
other questions are principally about qualifications taken by UK students,
but clarification would be appreciated.

Are there any parts of your request you would like us to prioritise in
order to narrow it?

Please note that we will not process your request any further until we
receive a response.

Yours sincerely

Paul Smallcombe

Records & Information Compliance Manager
