Admissions Statistics for Cambridge LLM
Dear University of Cambridge,
It would be appreciated if the relevant authorities could provide the following LLM admissions statistics.
For the avoidance of doubt, 'achieved grades' refer to the grade declared on the student's application form at the time of application which will have been used by the GAO for assessment when awarding offers. They will have typically been achieved in the first two years, or three years, of an applicant’s undergraduate studies.
(1) For admissions cycles 2000/2001 onwards till 2019/2020:
- Number of offerholders with 'achieved grades' equivalent to a first-class grade for each admissions cycle
- Number of offerholders with 'achieved grades' equivalent to an upper second-class grade for each admissions cycle
(2) For admissions cycles 2009/2010 onwards till 2019/2020:
This concerns applicants who are pursuing or have pursued their LLB degrees at the following Universities:
- University of Cambridge
- University of Oxford
- University College London
- London School of Economics
- King's College London
- Queen Mary University of London
- Durham University
- University of Bristol
- University of Nottingham
- University of Birmingham
- University of Warwick
Please provide, in accordance with each admissions cycle, the 'achieved grades' for these applicants at the time of application, whether an offer was made, and whether they have successfully met the conditions of the offer.
If any of the above data is not held, please still provide data for the portions of the request for which data is held.
Yours faithfully,
Jaycee Higgins

Dear Cambridge,
Thank you for the information. However, I would like to clarify as to the data on the first page, which lists a table of the total number of applications each year, offers awarded and offer confirmations. The offer confirmation data does not seem to tally with the number of places available on the LLM which is stated on the website as around 170 seats. Here, the number of confirmations exceed the 170 capacity. I would like to ask if the number of offer confirmations is correct and whether all these applicants are guaranteed a place upon accepting the offer.
Yours sincerely,
Jaycee Higgins
Dear Jaycee Higgins,
The figures are accurate and all those in the confirmations column are guaranteed a place.
