2) UCL’s official stance on whether Access to HE: Medicine is a suitable
level 3 qualification for entry onto the A100 course.
Technically, this is exemption information in the basis of s.21 –
information accessible to applicant by other means because this
information is available on our website. Currently, we accept applications
from candidates who are studying the Access to HE Diploma (Medicine) at
the College of West Anglia or Access to HE Diploma (Medicine) conforming
to the QAA subject descriptor for medicine. Candidates studying the Access
to HE Diploma (Medicine) conforming to the QAA subject descriptor for
medicine please confirm with the provider that the diploma meets this
requirement before registering. Candidates are responsible for ensuring
that their Access diploma is eligible before applying to this Medical
School.

Please note that no other access courses are accepted. Candidates applying
with an ineligible Access diploma will be unsuccessful in their
applications.
3) UCL’s official stance on applicants who have undertaken Access to HE :
Medicine who have previously attained A levels.
Technically, this is exemption information in the basis of s.21 –
information accessible to applicant by other means because this
information is available on our website. These courses are suitable for
candidates returning to study after a break or those who did not study the
necessary science subjects in their original A-levels but achieved the
required A*AA (i.e. students with a non-science background who now intend
to change career path). It is not suitable for candidates who did study
the required A-level or IB subjects but did not achieve sufficiently high
grades.
As you will see above, where the number of students is 5 or fewer (˜5),
the information has been withheld because, with such low numbers, even
providing this information on an anonymised basis it is possible that the
underlying individuals could be identified, which means that this is
personal data of third parties or, if linked with other personal
identifiers in the public domain, would be likely to become personal data.
This information has been withheld under Section 40(2) of the FOIA by
virtue of Section 40(3A)(a).
Section 40(2) of the FOIA allows a public authority to withhold
information under the FOIA where (i) the requested information is personal
data relating to someone other than the requester and (ii) its disclosure
would breach any of the Data Protection principles. In this case, we
believe that the requested information could relate to and identify
individuals and therefore would be personal data. The disclosure of these
personal data would not be within the reasonable expectations of the
individuals concerned and it would be unfair to do so; this therefore
breaches the first Data Protection principle.
As the Section 40(2) exemption is an absolute one, there is no need to
conduct a public interest test.

for non-commercial research purposes. The information may also be used for
the purposes of news reporting. However, any other type of re-use, for
example by publishing or issuing copies to the public, will require the
permission of the copyright owner.
