Under the Freedom of Information Act, please could you provide me with the following information:

The total number of applications received by the university for consideration for the Post Graduate or higher level courses from the Indian Sub-Continent for the following academic year 2012 & 2011 and the number of applicants who actually enrolled.

I anticipate that the best way to provide this information is to have a spreadsheet divided up into the individual years, and each year in turn being divided up unto the individual courses (which must have their course code next to them).

University on 15^th October 2012, requesting information on Post Graduate
application statistics.

Your request will be considered and you will receive the information
requested within the statutory timescale of 20 working days, as defined by
the Freedom of Information Act 2000, subject to the information not being
exempt.  

The Act defines a number of exemptions that may prevent release of the
information you have requested.  Should this prove to be the case after
your request is assessed, you will be informed of this, including your
right to appeal.

In some circumstances a fee may be payable and if that is the case, a fees
notice will be issued to you which you will be required to pay before we
proceed with your request.

Thank you for your request for information received by Southampton Solent
University on the 16^th October 2012. Please find the University’s
response below.

1.        The total number of applications received by the university for
consideration for the Post Graduate or higher level courses from the
Indian Sub-Continent for the following academic year 2012 & 2011 and the
number of applicants who actually enrolled.

The University has considered your request for information pertaining to
the academic year 2011-12 and has found the information to be exempt under
section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000; information accessible
to the applicant by other means. This exemption has been applied as the
information was provided to you on the 30^th January 2012.

The University has considered your request for information pertaining to
the academic year 2012-13 and has found the information to be exempt under
section 36 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000; information that would
prejudice the effective conduct of public affairs. The information is
exempt as the figures will not be finalised until the end of the academic
year.

If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request, please contact
the University’s Clerk of Governors, Southampton Solent University, East
