Thank you for submitting an FOI request, requesting information from the
University of Warwick. In order to comply with your request, we would be
grateful if you could please clarify the following:

·        Please confirm which MBA programmes you wish for your request to
include - [1]https://www.wbs.ac.uk/courses/mba/

·        Please confirm what you mean by ‘the number of GMAT’?

·        The link you provided to how London Business School presented the
data does not lead to a request of this nature nor a response by London
Business School therefore please could you provide the correct link if you
wish for the data to be presented in the same way.

Please be advised that the University will be unable to proceed with your
request until you have provided the requested clarifications and the 20

Dear infocompliance,

Thank you for your reply. Could you provide the scores for applicants to the full-time MBA program if that is possible?
The example format from London Business School was:
https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/a...
I apologize for that link I provided earlier. It was cut off.
By the "number of GMAT" I mean the sample size, or the number of test-takers per ethnic group.

Yours sincerely,

John Fuerst

Dear infocompliance, Resource,

You requested that I clarify "whether the years referenced are admission cycle year or year of entry".
Please provide data for the last four years for which you have data, whether that is "admission cycle year" or "year of entry". Use your descension on deciding which. If four years of data are not available, provide the data for the years which are.

Yours sincerely,

John Fuerst

Thank you for your email dated 15 December 2020 requesting information
from the University of Warwick under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Please find below your request and the University’s response.

FOI Request

Please could you provide the following statistic for MBA programme
(Warwick Business School)  for the previous 4 years of admissions: The
number, mean, and standard deviation of GMAT for applicants by ethnicity?
This is for an academic paper on adverse impact. For reference, please see
the results sent by London Business School:

[1]https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/a...

After the University sought clarification from you on 18 December 2020,
you provided the following further information:

o Thank you for your reply. Could you provide the scores for applicants
to the full-time MBA program if that is possible?
o The example format from London Business School was:
[2]https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/a...
o By the "number of GMAT"  I mean the sample size, or the number of
test-takers per ethnic group.
o Please provide data for the last four years for which you have data,
whether that is "admission cycle year" or "year of entry".  Use your
descension on deciding which.  If four years of data are not
available, provide the data for the years which are.

Response

Please find the requested information in the attached spreadsheet, titled:
FOI request – F148.20-21.

Data notes:

o Please also be advised that where the University has stated the value
as ‘< 5’ it declines to provide the actual figure on the grounds that
the numbers are very small and could potentially lead to the
identification of individuals, which may place the University in
breach of the General Data Protection Regulation 2016 and the Data
Protection Act 2018.  The University is relying on the exemption under
section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 in this regard.
o Please also note that where the data, broken down by ethnic group,
involved only 1 or 2 individuals the University has declined to
provide any information as this would involve disclosure of individual
scores which amounts to personal data and would place the University
in breach of the General Data Protection Regulation 2016 and the Data
Protection Act 2018.  The University is relying on the exemption under
section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 in this regard.

I trust that this information will be helpful to you, however, should you
be dissatisfied with the way in which your request has been handled you
can request an internal review within one month of our response and, in
the first instance, you are advised to follow the procedure outlined here:
