Thank you for submitting an FOI request, requesting information from the
University of Warwick. In order to comply with your request, we would be
grateful if you could please clarify the following:

·        Please confirm what you mean by ‘offer holder’ – is this the same
as someone who has received an offer from the University or do you mean
someone who has accepted that offer – i.e. confirmed the University has a
firm or insurance choice?

·        Please confirm what you mean by ‘major’ – do you mean what
subject the offer holder studied at undergraduate level?

·        Please confirm which three academic years your request covers,
note that the University is unable to provide the data requested for entry
onto courses starting in the academic year 2020/21 as the current
admissions and enrolment cycle is not yet complete. The University will
not be in a position to provide this until after the enrolment data is
available for the 2020/21 academic years for the various cohorts of
students which is usually at the end of October (31st) in each given year.
Please therefore confirm whether you would like the University provide a
response to your questions for the 2017/18, 2018/19 and 2019/20  academic
year, noting that this won’t be the most recent admission data held, or
whether you would like to re-submit your request at the end of October
once the 2020/21 admissions data is available?

Please be advised that the University will be unable to proceed with your
request until you have provided the requested clarifications and the 20
working day statutory time limit does not begin until clarification has
been received. Should we not receive a reply to this email, your request
will be closed in 20 working days.

Kind Regards

Thank you for your original email dated 18 October 2020 requesting
information from the University of Warwick under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000. Please find below your request and the University’s
response.

FOI Request

According to Freedom of Information right, I would be very grateful if you
can kindly provide admission statistics (last three years) for the
following MSc courses.

-        MSc in Finance

-        MSc in Business and Finance

-        MSc in Accounting and Finance

-        MSc in Business with Accounting & Finance

-        MSc in International Management

-        MSc in Management

Entries include:

-        Average GMAT score (if available)

-        Applications received

-        Offers made

-        Offers made to students in Taiwan

-        Offer holders (Taiwanese students) for each year broken down by
(1) the university they have attended for undergraduate study and (2)
their major

After the University sought clarification from you on 19 October 2020, you
provided the following further information:

(1)   offer holder:  someone who has received an offer from the University

(2)   major: subject the offer holder studied at undergraduate level

(3)   admission data: cover 2017/18, 2018/19 and 2019/20  academic year

Please find the information requested in the attached spreadsheet, titled
FOI request – F033.20-21.

Data notes:

o  The University’s Postgraduate admissions team do not hold data on
GMAT scores.
o  The University does not have an MSc in International Management.
o  Over the three years of data requested, there were changes to the
names of some courses - for example, Business and Finance was known as
Business (Financial Management) prior to the 2019/20 cycle. For
clarity, the University has listed courses as they are currently
known.
o Please note that where the University has stated the value as ‘< 5’ or
‘<10’ it declines to provide the actual figure on the grounds that the
numbers are very small and could potentially lead to the
identification of individuals, which may place the University in
breach of the General Data Protection Regulation 2016 and the Data
Protection Act 2018. The University is relying on the exemption under
section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 in this regard.

I trust that this information will be helpful to you, however, should you
be dissatisfied with the way in which your request has been handled you
can request an internal review within one month of our response and, in
the first instance, you are advised to follow the procedure outlined here:

If you remain dissatisfied with how your request has been handled, you
have a right to seek a decision from the Information Commissioner at: The
