Good afternoon Michael,

Can you clarify how each of the elements of the selection process are weighted to arrive at an offer of an interview GCSE results Predicted grades UCAT score personal statement. When we are shortlisting the first thing we look at is the UCAT score. As we have over 800 applications, we look at the top 300 candidates in the first instance.

After the UCAT we look at the predicted or achieved grades. The final thing is the personal statement where we are looking for work experience. We do not look at GCSE grades at all.

The highest, lowest and average UCAT score for graduate applicants to Dentistry A206 at the University of Newcastle, who were subsequently invited to interview.

The UCAT cut off score changes every year and is based on how well the students do in that particular year. The cut off scores for the three years you have asked for were:
2018 – 642
2019 – 637
2020 - 640

I hope that this is of use. If you are unhappy with the way we have handled your request you can ask for an internal review. Details of how to do this can be found at: http://www.ncl.ac.uk/foi/access/complain...

If you are not happy with the outcome of the internal review, you then have the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner's Office for a decision. Details of how to do this can be found at: http://ico.org.uk/concerns
