InfoRequest, Cardiff University

Dear Elizabeth

I am writing in response to your Freedom of Information request dated
24^th March 2020.

For ease of reference, I have reproduced your questions below and set out
our corresponding responses.

I would like to request under the Freedom of Information Act, the
admissions data for Dental Surgery courses A200 and A204.

I would specifically like to understand the following data;

 1. Number of applications:  for both courses for 2019 entry

Please see below table:

UCAS ID Course Name Applied Enroled
A200 Bachelor of Dental Surgery 711 74
A204 Bachelor of Dental Surgery with a Preliminary Year 73 0

 2. Number of interview places: for both courses for 2019 entry

Interview data is not held centrally but by the Dental School, which only
holds records for the total number of interviews held for BDS candidates
(i.e. both A200/A204). This data is not held or broken down at course
level.

For 2019 entry the school conducted 258 interviews for BDS candidates (243
for Home/EU applicants and 15 overseas applicants).

 3. Total number of students enrolling on course:  for both courses for
2019 entry

Please see table in response to question one.

I trust this information satisfies your enquiry.  The University has a
Freedom of Information Complaints Procedure should you feel dissatisfied
with this response or the way in which your request was handled.
