Dear Mr Patel,

Thank you for your request to access information from the University of
Warwick.

To comply with your request, please clarify the following:

• Please confirm your full name (section 8(1)(b) of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 requires you to provide your full name when
making an FOI request)
• Please confirm that you are happy to receive the requested breakdown
on the total number of students that did each subject as opposed to
their specific choices, as this could potentially lead to their
identification, which may place the University in breach of the UK
General Data Protection Regulation. For example, 17 students did
A-Level Geography, not that 1 student’s choices were Geography, French
and Maths etc.

We will be unable to progress your request until you have provided the
requested clarification; and the 20 working days timeframe for us to
provide a response will not begin until we have received your
clarification.

If we do not hear from you, we will close your request in 20 working days.

Kind regards,

Dear University of Warwick,

Please see the following amendments to my request,

Under the Freedom of Information Act, I would like to request the

(G400) admissions at the University of Warwick.

- Percentage of applicants who were accepted that held an AS-Level in
Further Mathematics; and
- Percentage of applicants who were accepted that held an A-Level in
Further Mathematics.

Please provide the data for the last three admissions cycles.

Yours sincerely,
Dhruvil Patel

Hi Dhruvil,

Further to your below email dated 28 June 2022, some further clarification
is required by the department in respect of your recent FOI request. We
would therefore be grateful if you could please clarify the following: -

• The department have confirmed that in order to ascertain the figures
required for the period specified it would exceed the 18-hour cost
limit, as they would need to review and collate many hundreds of lines
of data to determine the achieved qualifications of those individuals
who applied. However, it may be possible within the cost limit to
provide you with the ratios in relation to A-level grades for those
applicants who subsequently enrolled onto the course, but this would
be limited to a single cycle year as opposed to three (i.e., for
academic year 2021/22 entry). If you are happy for us to proceed on
this basis, please can you confirm and advise on whether you are only
interested in UK A levels, International A levels or both?

Please also be aware that there are no subject preferences for Computer
Science beyond meeting the essential subject requirement of A-Level Maths.
If an applicant is taking Further Maths as a subject, it has no bearing on
whether an offer is made as part of the selection process.

We will be unable to progress your request until you have provided the
requested clarification; and the 20 working days timeframe for us to
provide a response will not begin until we have received your
clarification.

If we do not hear from you, we will close your request in 20 working days.

Kind regards,
