Dear London School of Economics,
Under the request of information act, I request the average GRE scores, number of applicants and number of acceptances in MSc Finance and MSc Accounting and Finance for the most recent admission cycle.
With reference to your request for information under the Freedom of Information Act, please find the information requested below:
For clarity, the number of offers is not the same as the number of registered students. For both programmes, the GRE is not the preferred test, so the average scores below are from a small minority of applicants.
MSc Finance (full-time) - I have assumed that this is the programme under question, and not the part time version.
Number of applicants: 1449, number of offers made: 165
Verbal average: 155
Quantitative average: 165
Analytical Writing average: 3.7
MSc Accounting and Finance
Number of applicants: 1029, number of offers made: 201
Verbal average: 155
Quantitative average: 160
Analytical Writing average: 3.9
If you think that the information provided does not meet your request, contact me or write to Kevin Haynes, Head of Legal, London School of Economics and Political Science, Houghton Street, London, WC2A 2AE. We will then review the response to your request and get back to you within 20 working days. You can also contact the Information Commissioner's Office http://www.ico.gov.uk/, though they expect the internal review to be carried out before receiving a complaint directly.
