Dear University of Edinburgh,
Please provide in CSV or Excel spreadsheet tabular form detailed undergraduate admission statistics for each of the last five academic admission years ending in admission September 2019, broken down by course and broken down by fee status.
(i) Overseas (ii) Home Scotland-EU (iii) RUK.
Such statistics should include the predicted grades of each applicant whether at A level of IB or other / the conditional offer made and the date the offer was made / the grade received and whether the offer was accepted and the student admitted or not.
The statistics concerning applicants in the Home Scotland-EU category should be further broken down into Scotland disadvantaged applicants (Care or other), other Home Scotland applicants and Home non-Scotland EU applicants (stating also their country of residence/domicile and showing in each category the predicted grades of each applicant whether at A level or IB or other / the conditional offer made / the grade received and whether the offer was accepted or not
Thank you

Yours faithfully,
M. Wilson

Dear Mr. Don,

Thank you for your email and letter of today's date.

I understand the restrictions that you have described which limit the information that you can provide.

To respond to your comments and using your subject numbering.

1.) Where the numbers are below 5, it would be acceptable to simply so indicate in order not to enable individual identification

2.) I understand. Your proposal in Item 3 below would be acceptable.

Also acceptable would be to limit more detailed predicted grade analysis to

International Relations (MA) L250
Psychology (BSc) C802
Social Anthropology (MA) L600
Social Anthropology and Politics (MA) LL62

3) You wrote "We would be able to provide the numbers of conditional offers made by programme and fee status."
That would be acceptable.
Average conditional offers and Low and High Range would be acceptable - so long as these are by fee status and separate out contextual offers (which allow for lower offers to be made,) so as not to skew the results. The key is to be able to see rUK, EU, Scotland and Contextual to understand the effect of the applicant's fee status on the admissions process as well - in the EU/Scotland category - to see if domicile or nationality is there making a difference to conditions of admission in that category and to see how that compares with rUK.

4.) Your proposal here would be acceptable in such cases not covered above.

5.) Your proposal here would be acceptable. Thank you.

Thank you very much for your help

Yours sincerely,

M. Wilson
