Admission statistics

The request was successful.

Dear University of Manchester,

I would like to request data for a breakdown of all master programmes related to Business and Math. To avoid confusion, I refer to the data for every master Business or Math programme, not for the whole subject group of Business and Math.

Specifically and if possible, I would like to request, for each of the aforementioned courses:

1) Number of applicants
2) Number of Chinese (Domiciled in China PR) applicants
3) Number of offers made
4) Number of Chinese (Domiciled in China PR) offers made

Please kindly provide the data on latest three admission cycles.

Yours faithfully,

KAI CHEN

Dear Kai

I am writing in response to your request under the Freedom of Information
Act 2000, whereby you requested -

I would like to request data for a breakdown of all master programmes
related to Business and Math. To avoid confusion, I refer to the data for
every master Business or Math programme, not for the whole subject group
of Business and Math.

Specifically and if possible, I would like to request, for each of the
aforementioned courses:

1) Number of applicants

2) Number of Chinese (Domiciled in China PR) applicants

3) Number of offers made

4) Number of Chinese (Domiciled in China PR) offers made

Please kindly provide the data on latest three admission cycles.

Please see the attached spreadsheet with the answers to your questions.

Please also note that we are aware that this is now the 4th request you
have made in the space of 6 weeks, all of which are very similar in that
they ask for the same statistics but for different courses here at The
University of Manchester. There are provisions under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 at Section 14 for vexatious requests (S14(1)) and
repeat requests (S14(2)). We would encourage you to think about the
information that you require and submit one request for it. The effect of
submitting continual requests is that it undermines the value of any
public interest in them, and places an unnecessary burden on us to respond
to them, to the extent that we may have to apply Section 14 of the FOIA in
the future, at which point, we will no longer be required to provide you
with a response.

I hope this information is useful.

Best wishes

Holly
