Dear Lincolnshire County Council,

How many requests has Lincolnshire County Council received pertaining to 'admission of children outside their normal age group' from parents of summer born children regarding entry into reception class at compulsory school age for the school years 2015-2016, 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 respectively?

How many of these requests have been granted and how many have been refused by Lincolnshire County Council for the school years 2016-2017, 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 respectively?

For each of the answers given could you please break down the numbers by those with special educational needs and those without.

Response:

 

It is essential to state unequivocally that, in accordance with
legislation (the School Admissions Code 2014) it is the admission
authority for the school that makes these decisions; Academies and
Foundation and Voluntary Aided schools are their own admission
authorities.  Lincolnshire County Council is the admission authority for
Community and Voluntary Controlled schools and delegates these decisions
to the Governing Body in each school, the Council does not make the
decisions centrally.
