Additional support for shielded group within local authority

The request was successful.

Dear Inverclyde Council,

I'm requesting a freedom of information request relating to the numbers of those who were asked to shield by the Scottish Government in your council area.

How many of those shielding were you as a council providing extra food support too? I would like to know what extra support was provided by the local authority to top up on national support and at what cost. For example, extra food parcels were provided and procured in Glasgow City council area.

If your local authority topped up the government boxes then what with?

Thanks in advance.

Yours faithfully,

Holly McCormack BA (hons)

Dear Ms McCormack

I write in relation to your Freedom of Information request to Inverclyde Council dated 30th October 2020. In terms of your enquiry, Inverclyde Council did not offer any additional enhanced food parcels to shielding patients therefore this would be NIL response.

I attach a copy of our review policy in case you are dissatisfied with any aspect of this response.

Kind Regards
Ryan

Hi Holly,

Thanks for your information request. Apologises in the late response.

Inverclyde Council did not offer enhanced food parcels for Shielding
individuals. People were able to utilise the option for priority
supermarket slots to obtain what they needed.

Some Shielding individuals were able to access hot meals but this was not
organised through our Council.

Best Regards
