Dear Oxford City Council,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Oxford City Council's handling of my FOI request 'Additional Restrictions Grant ARG (BEIS)'.
Please provide clarification as to what personal information exactly that you have removed? I thought the grants were meant for businesses and if so, why provide the names for some and not for others.
Please explain, for example, why The London Gift Shop Ltd, OX1 3HA received 6 individual grants on 09/06/2021 totalling £15,000.
Please provide copies of all application forms businesses would have had to submit in order to apply for the grant.
How many grants were awarded by the Council under this scheme that were subsequently discovered to be ineligible? Provide number of grants and total cost. How many grants and how much was recovered.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/a...
Yours faithfully,
Martin Henson

Dear Martin Henson
Please find below a response to your request for information received on
31 July.
Personal information was removed for cases where the personal information
was for an individual related to a business - for example, anything in
relation to sole traders or businesses 'trading as' another name would
include the names/personal details of the trader, so this has been
redacted.
Your question related to The London Gift Shop Ltd, OX1 3HA receiving 6
individual grants on 09/06/2021 totalling £15,000 is processed under new
request ref 2024/00913 and you will be sent the response within statutory
deadlines as per acknowledgement sent.
Yours sincerely

Dear Oxford City Council,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Oxford City Council's handling of my FOI request 'Additional Restrictions Grant ARG (BEIS)'.
I would like to contest your decision to redact information of beneficiaries.
I believe that there is a strong public interest in being open as how the Council distributed millions of pounds of taxpayer money. How can public have any faith in the Council when they are not open.
