Dear Cheshire West and Chester Council,

Many thanks for the information received against this request. Is it possible to further segment the detail in the table 'Tarporley Shuttle Passenger figures 18 19.xlsx' to include pick up points and destinations. The data, as provided, only offers a total number of passengers / journeys. What we are, ideally, seeking, is to establish exactly from where to where those passengers / journeys were taken. We are not seeking specific address information but, say, postcode to postcode or village to where?

This information will be invaluable in helping us to understand the usage of the Community Car scheme (previously known as 'Tarporley Shuttle'

Yours faithfully,

Response

From our preliminary assessment, we estimate that compliance with your

Freedom of information Act 2000.

This is currently £450 or approximately 2.5 days of one person’s time.

In order to provide you with the information on the scale that you have
requested would require accessing information relating to approximately
728 records to identify, locate and extract the

information requested.

This cost involved is extract the required information.

We estimate your current request would cost:

1. Identify, locate and extract information from 728 records @ a
conservative 2.5 minutes per record =

2. 1820 minutes = 30 hours

3. 30 hours x £25 (rate per hour local authorities can charge under the
Act) = £750

Dear FOI West,

many thanks for the request to clarify my request. I will try to be succinct. This data/information is required to support a proposal by the four Parishes that comprise Tarporley Ward (Little Budworth, Rushton-Eaton, Tarporley and Utkinton & Cotebrook) to introduce a community based transport system that will complement the existing commercial services (A84, DG 82 and North West Trains) and provide linkages and connectivity to the above mentioned Parishes as well as provision for Tiverton and Bunbury. The overall strategy is to make Tarporley a hub (it is already a Key Service Centre) and offer social inclusion for all segments of the local populations across the whole of the Ward. This is proposed to be from 07:00 - 19:00 Monday - Friday.

Part of this request applied to the Tarporley Shuttle introduced in April 2018 and which provides services two days a week from Utkinton via Tarporley, Tiverton and Clotton Hoofield to Chester, the Countess of Chester and Cheshire Oaks. We have the overall statistics for pick ups and drop offs by this service but have no information as to which stops are used. Recently we have been asked by both Tiverton and Clotton to try and include these villages as access to transport is critical for some of their residents.

I an the project leader of a small team that includes; CWaC Transport Commissioning, our Ward Councillor, our MP and the four Parish Councils. I am a logistician and statistician by nature and fully understand the complexity of data and were able to access the data myself would be able to extract it.

I hope that this is sufficient for you to provide that requisite data.

Yours sincerely,

Francis Tunney
