This reply is puzzling to say the least, as I personally was employed for quite a while at the Blood Products Laboratory situated at Dagger Lane Elstree Hertfordshire
where not only serums and other products were manufactured for sale abroad, but testing on live animals took place....
or maybe I just imagined the whole thing ?? think not !!

Dear Sir or Madam,

I find your reply somewhat puzzling as I was employed at the Blood Products Laboratory Dagger Lane Elstree for quite a while, where not only blood products were manufactured for eventual overseas sale, but testing was carried out on live animals.

I'm certain that this is not a figment of my imagination, and maybe a further response from yourself would be in order ?

William,

Great questions and I hope you keep asking questions and taking it further. I was listening to a radio show last week and it mentioned that blood in England and Wales that is collected from blood transfusion vans is resold to the NHS. I have since had this confirmed, in Scotland it is sold to private patients.

The answers you have received are baffling.

Good luck

Just so you know, blood is sold to the wider NHS (I.e Hospitals and also private hospitals) for £125 per unit at present. I work here and might it be mentioned it is a not for profit org.
