Accountability and Authority of a Clinical Head
Dear Belinda Bruty,
Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust,
I refer to my request of 18th July 2013, i.e.:
“Please will you provide the Trust's statements/definitions of
1. Accountability and 2. Authority of the clinical head of a speciality (e.g. Ophthalmology) for the engagement, training, performance, development, discipline and dismissal of staff employed in management services and administration (e.g. for patients' appointments)”,
and your response of 14th August 2013:
“Accountability and authority for the engagement, training, performance, development, discipline and dismissal of staff employed in management services and administration is not included in the Clinical Director’s role profile. The Clinical Director does not have line management authority over non medical staff”.
When I referred to your response at the Governor Awareness Session on March 31st 2014, governor Clara Moore said that the information is no longer correct. Trust Secretary Ann Alderton, Membership Manager Sally Rees, and governors Brian Walker and Daryl Brown were present,
Please will you provide currently-valid information in response to my request of 18th July 2013.
Yours sincerely
John Rudkin
