Dear South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust,

I would like to know:

1:

For the period from 1st Jan 1998 to 31 Dec 2016, for each calendar year,
the number of patient journeys (including emergency, transfer, and special
journeys categories) conducted by NHS South Western Ambulance Trust, shown by
category.

2:

For the period from 1st Jan 1998 to 31 Dec 2016, the number of road
accidents with injury for NHS South Western Ambulance Trust (including Fatal,
Serious, and Slight categories) where any driver, passenger, patient, or
external bystander was injured, shown by category.

we received on 28 November 2017.

obligations under this legislation.You will see from this that we are not
obliged to generate information we do not already hold in order to provide
what we are asked for, such as by collating data or formulating direct

providing what we hold no later than 28 December 2017 in accordance with
the timescales set by the Act.

information regarding response data under the provisions of the Freedom of
Information Act.  We are able to provide the information below:

the information is tabled as part of the body of an email these can come

period from former Great Western Ambulance Trust (GWAS) on 1 February 2013. Prior to this date, SWASFT

(including from April 2013 onwards and since February 2016 the systems have been aligned for ease of

2.1 trial where calls where categorised as: Red, Amber and Red; Red T, Amber and Green.

From the 25th October 2016 next version of the the Ambulance Response Programme (ARP) trial
version 2.2 came into effect where calls where categorised as:

APR 2.2 - Category 1; Category 2R; Category 2T; Category 3R; Category 3T; Category 4T and
Category 4H.

Data excludes duplicate, test and error calls and Incidents which took place outside the
geographical footprint of the trust.
