Could you please provide data in relation to the
North Bank between Millenium Bridge and the Dog in the Doublet bridge.
Traffic flow in an average 24 hours.
Accidents in the last 5 years from November 2014.
For each of those 5 years please show the number of accidents by Month, showing: the total number of accidents; the number of fatal accidents; the number with serious or life changing injury and the number with slight injury.
Could you please show separately the number with no injury but where the Police attended.
Could you please provide an estimated cost to provide average speed cameras along this stretch of road

Your request for information has now been considered and the information
requested is given below.
Could you please provide data in relation to the North Bank between
Millenium Bridge and the Dog in the Doublet bridge.
Traffic flow in an average 24 hours.
Accidents in the last 5 years from November 2014.

Traffic Flow Data
A 24 hour 7 day speed survey and vehicle count was undertaken week
commencing 12^th March 2013 on the North Bank Road, Peterborough and
showed the following traffic flow;
1. Average weekday – 5985 vehicles
2. 7 day average – 5375 vehicles (reflecting the lower traffic volumes at
the weekends)
Collision and Casualty data
Over the last five years a total of 20 collisions (January 2008 to 3
November 2013) have happened along the length of North Bank from Bedford
House to and including the junction at the Dog and Doublet. This resulted
in 34 casualties, of which 4 were fatal, 7 serious and 23 slights.
A further fatal incident happened on or before 2^nd December 2013, for
which we are currently awaiting the official report. This incident is not
included in the above 2013 figures, but the vehicle was submerged in the
River Nene
A serious injury is an injury for which a person is detained in hospital
or any of the following; fractures, concussion, internal injuries,
crushing’s, severe cuts or lacerations, severe general shock requiring
medical treatment, injuries causing death 30 or more days after the
accident. A slight injury is an injury of a minor character such as a
sprain, bruise or cut.
Peterborough City Council does not hold details of damage, only
incidents. This information will need to be obtained direct from the
Cambridgeshire Constabulary. Please see link below:

For information, a personal injury collision is an accident which has
occurred on the public highway in which a road vehicle is involved which
becomes known to the police within 30 days of its occurrence. A casualty
is a person who is killed or injured in an accident. Casualties are
subdivided into killed, seriously injured and slightly injured. For
example, one collision could result in 3 casualties.
Average speed cameras
It is not possible to provide an estimated cost for an average camera
system along this road at the current time, given the unknown costs for
engineering works and the provision of a suitable power supply.
Peterborough City Council are currently investigating these issues.
