Accident rates and appropriate risk analysis along M% junction 4 to 5

We're waiting for Graham Neal to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Highways England Company Limited,

Traffic Data suggests that there was a significant increase in accidents as a result of High Ways decision to implement traffic measures between junction 4 and 5 of the M5.

A request is made for :

Reported Traffic Accidents on this stretch of motorway between 2019 and 2015.

A copy of the assessment of the potential impact on traffic safety in this area by implementing the traffic measures and lane reductions.

A copy of any reviewed carried out in light of the number of incidents that occurred during this period as a result of the traffic measures and lane reductions.

Any evidence that suggest highways carried out a proportionate analysis against the risk of resulting traffic incidents by the lane alterations against the benefits of attempting to divert traffic counter clockwise.

Yours faithfully,

GJN
