OPSSESecretariat,

Dear Mr George,

I am writing regarding your request for information received on 23 August
2017.  In that request, you asked us for traffic throughput of the M25
while under variable speed limit control.

I will be unable to proceed with your request without clarification of the
information you wish to receive. To help us do so, I would like to know:

·       Please confirm whether you are referring to traffic flows since
the introduction of variable speed limits or flows when the variable limit
is being used e.g. when not at 70mph.

·       Also please confirm which parts of the M25 you are interested in.
All the M25 variable sections or a particular section? Not all of the M25
has variable speed limits.

Please note that if I do not receive appropriate clarification of your
information requirements within three months from the date of this letter,
then I will consider your request closed.

If you wish to discuss any of the above, please contact me. Please
remember to quote reference number CRS 754701 in any future
communications.

Yours sincerely

Dear OPSSESecretariat,

Thank you for your response. I am interested in using the data from the variable speed controlled stretches of the M25 to understand how changing the speed limits on the lanes effects the number of cars that can pass through the controlled sections. Thus the request is for the traffic flow while under control of the variable speed limits. I would like data on all the sections but I would be happy with at least one section.

Yours sincerely,

Richard George
