Dear North Kent College,

I am getting in touch to ask which company supplies the door access card readers on buildings around North Kent College (used for contact-less access on student/staff ID cards).

Please give all information relating to:
- The make and model of readers used
- The company which manufactures/distributes the readers
- Any third-party installers/channel partners used to purchase the readers
- The software used to manage the door controllers and readers.
- Approximate quantity of access control readers on site
- Name of the individual(s) responsible for these systems at the college

Additionally, if the college uses readers from multiple suppliers, please give a list of all suppliers.

Thank you in advance.

Yours faithfully,

K York

Dear North Kent College,

I am following up on a Freedom of Information request that was made on September 4th, 2024.

By law, the request should have been answered promptly and by October 2nd, 2024. I am therefore getting in touch to ask that you respond to this request as soon as possible, otherwise I will need to refer it to the Information Commissioner's Office.

If you have any questions or require further clarification, please do get in touch. Thank you in advance.

Yours faithfully,

Kerrie Francis, North Kent College

Dear K York
Your Freedom of Information request, which you submitted to the College on
4th September 2024, has been passed to me for a response. My apologies for
the delay.
Unfortunately, North Kent College is not able to provide the information
you have requested, in line with section 43 of the FOI Act, which provides
that information is exempt if its disclosure would, or would be likely to,
prejudice the commercial interests of any person.
We consider that a detailed breakdown of the card readers and software
used by the College is commercially sensitive and disclosure would be
likely to be detrimental to our legitimate commercial interests. We also
do not believe that disclosure of this information is in the public
interest and would have a prejudicial impact on our physical and cyber
security at the College.
I believe this concludes your request under the FOI Act.
Regards
Kerrie
