Information Assurance and Governance
Office of the Principal
1 October 2021
Dear Tarquin,
Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002
Our Ref: 329-21
I refer to your enquiry dated 5 September 2021 asking to be supplied with the following
information under the provisions of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (“the
FOISA”):
• The admission statistics for every course at undergraduate level for the 2020/21
application cycle, broken down into fee paying status (Scotland, Rest of UK and
International).
• For subjects that are split into separate courses (like MA History), please also include the
statistics for each course within it, such as for Scottish History, Modern History, Medieval
History etc.)
You have asked to be supplied with data for the 2020/21 application cycle i.e. entry in
academic year 2021/22. Following the start of the academic year, this data has yet to be
produced and will not be available until later this month.
Section 17 of the FOISA requires that a Scottish public authority confirms in writing where
information requested of it is not held and notice is therefore given to this effect.
As an alternative, we can look to provide you with admission statistics for academic year
2020/21 entry and if you would like to be provided with this information please let me know
and this will be processed for you.
Your right to seek a review of how your information request was managed
If you are not satisfied with the University’s response and/or our reasoning set-out above, you
have the right to request a review of our decision. The timelines in which this right is available
are set out in section 20(5)(a) and (b) FOISA. In broad terms the right to seek a review must
be exercised within 40 working days of receiving this response.
