Acceptance of Metro tickets by bus operators

The request was partially successful.

Dear Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Executive,

Under the Freedom of Information Act, could you please provide the following information?

During temporary suspension of Metro service, due to a fault or otherwise, it's announced that certain bus services are accepting Metro tickets. For both the financial year 2013-14 and 2014-15, could you tell me;

1) How many times have bus operators been asked to accept Metro tickets during each of the financial years?
2) What was the total cost to during each of the financial years for operators to accept Metro tickets?
3) Who is responsible for the amount in answer to question 2?

Thanks.

Yours faithfully,

Mr Hedley

Dear Sir,

I refer to your e-mail which has been forwarded to me as the person within Nexus responsible for responding to FOI requests.

Since 1st April 2010 ,by way of a Concession Agreement, responsibility for passenger services has been transferred to DB (Tyne and Wear ) ltd and therefore Nexus is unable to fully respond to your questions since the responsibility in relation to alternative 'bus services' during 'temporary suspension' of service is the responsibility of DB.

In response to your numbered questions I would reply as follows from the information available to Nexus;

1. 13/14- 27
14/15- 36.

Please note this applies to where Nexus have arranged for acceptance of tickets by other operators.

2.Nexus does not have this information which is a private arrangement between DB and individual bus operators.

3.The cost falls to DB.

Yours Faithfully
