Academic journal costs
Dear University of East Anglia,
Please publish the total amount paid to the following publishers:
Nature Publishing Group
Royal Society of Chemistry
Institute of Physics Publishing (IOP)
for academic journals in each of the last five years (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014).
I understand that your expenditure records may be held in academic financial years rather than calendar years. If so I am happy for the response to be provided in the same format, with figures for 2009/10, 2010/11, 2011/12, 2012/13, and 2013/14.
The figures should include payments made directly to the publishers as well as any payments made to subscription agents or intermediaries for the purchase of, and/or access to, the publishers' academic journals. They should include payment for journal packages such as Jisc Collections agreements, as well as payments for individual journals. Please include VAT where possible; it would be useful if you could state whether or not figures include VAT.
Please do not include payments for other products from the same companies which are not academic journals, for example books.
Yours faithfully,
Stuart Lawson
