About the costs of dealing with FOI Requests

C Anderson made this Freedom of Information request to Bank of England

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was partially successful.

Dear Bank of England,

Would it be possible to provide information about the following:

1) How many FOI requests have been made to the BoE about signatures on Promissory Notes being used as part of the creation of money in the last 5 years? What is the estimated cost of responding to such requests?

2) How many FoI requests have been made to the BoE about the existence of so-called "Birth Trust Accounts" in the last 5 years? What is the estimated cost of responding to such requests?

3) The total number of FoI requests and the estimated cost to the BoE in the last 12-36 months in responding to all FoI requests and if possible, the estimated cost per FoI request dealt with?

4) The number of FoI requests deemed to have been outside the scope of the FoI Act and the estimated cost in dealing with these?

5) The number of times Ben Norman's patience has been tested by individuals endeavouring to try and "catch" the BoE out in some government conspiracy to enslave the UK population?

6) If there is a record of the BoE making any recommendations to HM Government that it would be prudent to teach economic theory at secondary school and provide a basic understanding of financial instruments and their use in modern day economies?

Yours faithfully,

C Anderson,
