Dear Police Scotland,

Dear FOI, Dundee,
I note and thank you for your response.
However, local policing teams were established in the legacy Grampian police Aberdeen Division on 1 April 2010, as a result of a divisional restructure. As such, directly comparable numbers should be available in this case.
I'd be obliged if you would check again. As I am confident that these figures are available on the legacy Grampian systems, I will accept a copy of the 1 April 2010 document outlining the staff moves and I can collect the rank specific numbers myself if required.
Furthermore, I note your appology for the delay in handling this request, I would appreciate an explanation, and appology on its own seems empty and I'd like to be apprised of the background to the delay.
Thanks.
Yours sincerely,
John

Dear John,
Thank you for your email.
With regard first of all to the reason for the late response to your original request, I can advise you that Police Scotland receives a significant volume of FOI requests each month and whilst every effort is made to meet the legislative deadlines, it is simply not possible on every occasion.
Compliance with timescales is reported to the Office of the Scottish Information Commissioner on a quarterly basis and those figures are publicly available on their website.
With regard to your subsequent questions, I can, should you wish, arrange for a second internal review of the response on the basis that you feel Section 17 of the Act (information not held) has been applied incorrectly.
As my response was the first response with regard to that particular information, I must advise you that the Office of the Scottish Information Commissioner would likely request that you do this before they would consider an appeal.
If you could please let me know, I'll arrange for a colleague to conduct a further review.

Dear FOI, Dundee,
I note the reasons for the delay, and accept them as beyond your control.
Please do ask for a second review as I am confident that the information does exist on legacy Grampian systems.
Thanks for your help
Yours sincerely,
John
