Dear Croydon Borough Council,

I am conducting research in relation to the number of cars that are abandoned per year, and wondered if you hold the following data please:

The number of vehicles reported as abandoned within your area, broken down by month across the last year (from January 2024 to January 2025). If possible, please also include the make and model and registration year of any of these abandoned vehicles.

Please provide this as an Excel spreadsheet (or similar format).

If any element of this request exceeds the FOI cost/time limits, please could you refine the request, and process any other available data.

Please let me know if you would like further information or clarification on this request. Thank you for your help in this enquiry.

Subject: Freedom of Information request - Abandoned vehicles 2025

Your request is being considered and you will receive a response within
the statutory timescale of 20 working days, subject to the application of
any exemptions. Where consideration is being given to exemptions the 20
working day timescale may be extended to a period considered reasonable
depending on the nature and circumstances of your request. In such cases
you will be notified and, where possible, a revised time-scale will be

notify you of this together with the reason(s) why, and details of how you
may appeal.
