Thank you for your recent request for information which I have enclosed
below for ease of reference. Your request has been treated in accordance
with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and/or the Environmental
Information Regulations 2004.

Your Request :  REQ10887

I can confirm that we hold information that falls within the scope of your
request. The answers to your questions have been provided in Red Text and
in the attached.

I am conducting research in relation to the number of cars that are
abandoned per year, and wondered if you hold the following data please:

The number of vehicles reported as abandoned within your area, broken down
by year across the last 5 years (from Jan 2018-Jan 2023). If possible,
please also include the make and model and registration year of any of
these abandoned vehicles.

Please see attached a spreadsheet showing the number of abandoned vehicles
and associated costs between 2018 and 2022.

*Please note the reported figure is all reports of abandoned vehicles.
These may be multiple reports for the same vehicle or vehicles on private
property, which are not actioned by the Local Authority.

We do not provide the make/model or registration numbers of the vehicles
as these could lead to the identification of an individual. Section 40(2)
of the Freedom of Information Act state that personal data which is not
the personal data of the requester (ie third-party personal data) should
not be disclosed if this would contravene the data protection principles.

The attachment does not include the removal of caravans as these are
deemed to be ‘fly-tipping’.
