A level statistics for Civil Engineering
Dear Imperial College London,
I would like to request the following information for the Civil Engineering course applications for the latest available admissions cycle and the one preceding that. Please exclude the data for Civil Engineering courses with year abroad.
Data sorted in a table of 6 columns with:
'student x (keeping anonymity)'
'international student Y/N'
'whether the applicant is doing 3 or 4 A levels'
'predicted A2 grade'
'interviewed Y/N'
'offer Y/N'
If available please do include what their offer was if they received an offer.
The rows should include the student (keeping anonymity) and the subjects they have completed.
Yours faithfully,
John Marsden

Dear Mr Marsden

"the following information for the Civil Engineering [H201] course applications for the latest available admissions cycle and the one preceding that. Please exclude the data for Civil Engineering courses with year abroad.

It is not possible for the College to provide a candidate-by-candidate list of the requested data, as individuals may be identifiable from the information provided. This is therefore exempt from disclosure under Section 40 (2) of the Freedom of Information Act which states that "any information to which a request for information relates is also exempt information if - (a) it constitutes personal data."
Please therefore see the attached spreadsheet, showing H201 application and offer information as four separate tables. The notes on the spreadsheet contain details of the figures provided.
Table 1 shows the number of applications split by fee status.
Table 2 shows the numbers of A-levels being offered.
Table 3 shows the predicted and/or achieved A-Level grades and subsequent offers made to applicants with those grades.
Table 4 shows the numbers of offer types.
Please note that figures of 5 or fewer have been replaced by an asterisk. This is because individuals may otherwise be identifiable from the data provided. This information is therefore exempt from disclosure under Section 40 (2) of the Freedom of Information Act, as advised above.
With regard to interview data, the Civil Engineering Department does not conduct selection interviews. Information about the selection process within the Department is available here: http://www.imperial.ac.uk/study/ug/cours...
Candidates are instead invited to a Recruitment Day.
147 candidates attended a Recruitment Day in the 2016 admissions round
153 candidates attended a Recruitment Day in the 2017 admissions round
Candidates from overseas may be invited to make a short video submission as part of their application process if they are unable to attend a Recruitment Day.
