Dear John Dimitroulopoulos
Thank you for your request for information.
We are not obliged to answer requests where we believe a pseudonym is being used and before we are able to process your request, we need to ensure that your request is valid, by asking you to confirm (with proof of ID) your real name.
Section 8 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 stipulates that a "request for information" is a reference to such a request which:
(b) states the name of the applicant and an address for correspondence;
In this regard the Information Commissioner's Office confirms, within the Freedom of Information Code of Practice, as a guidance for processing requests, that an applicant must provide their real name; otherwise the public authority who has received the request need not comply by issuing a response.
Once we have received your proof of identity we will begin processing in line with statutory requirements.
Yours sincerely
Information Governance Unit
