Dear Mr Willer,
Thank you for your request for information, which was received on 21
August 2020. You requested “the full A level algorithms.” I have dealt
with your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Under section 21 of the Act (information accessible to applicant by other
means), the Department is not required to provide information in response
to a request if it is already reasonably accessible to you.
The information that you have requested is held by the independent
regulator of qualifications, examinations, and assessments in England,
Ofqual. You can find details of the algorithm in Ofqual’s technical report
at
([1]https://www.gov.uk/government/publicatio...)
and their requirements document
([2]https://www.gov.uk/government/publicatio...).
If you require any further information, then I would recommend you contact
Ofqual direct at [3][email address] or [4][email address]
If you have any queries about this letter, please contact me. Please
remember to quote the reference number above in any future communications.
If you are unhappy with the way your request has been handled, you should
make a complaint to the Department by writing to me within two calendar
months of the date of this letter. Your complaint will be considered by
an independent review panel, who were not involved in the original
consideration of your request.
If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint to the
Department, you may then contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Yours
Qualifications team
