Dear University of Liverpool,

I am writing to request for information in regards to the BDS Dentistry course.

I understand this request may be very long, however, a lot of the questions have been repeated in order to avoid any confusion.

For all questions: please exclude applicants applying with degrees (graduates).

For 2019 entry:

1. How many applicants applied with predicted A levels or equivalent?
2. How many applicants applied with achieved A levels or equivalent?**

3. How many applicants interviewed had predicted A levels or equivalent?
4. How many applicants interviewed had achieved A levels or equivalent?

5. How many conditional offers were given out for 2019 entry?
6. How many unconditional offers were given out for 2019 entry?

7. How many conditional deferred offers were given out for 2020 entry?
8. How many unconditional deferred offers were given out for 2020 entry?

9. How many places did you have available for 2019 entry after taking into account deferred offers from the previous cycle?

10. What interview score was required in order to be made an offer and what was the total score?*

11. What was the average interview score of all applicants interviewed?

For 2020 entry:

1. How many applicants applied with predicted A levels or equivalent?
2. How many applicants applied with achieved A levels or equivalent?**

3. How many applicants interviewed had predicted A levels or equivalent?
4. How many applicants interviewed had achieved A levels or equivalent?

For the questions 5-8, I am referring to the offers given out in March 2020 following the interview process NOT the offers given out due to the CAG U turn following results day.

5. How many conditional offers were given out for 2020 entry?
6. How many unconditional offers were given out for 2020 entry?

7. How many conditional deferred offers were given out for 2021 entry?
8. How many unconditional deferred offers were given out for 2021 entry?

9. How many places did you have available for 2020 entry after taking into account deferred offers from the previous cycle?

The following questions (10-13) are in relation to the use of centre assessed grades:

10. How many unconditional deferred offers were given out following the government U turn? I am referring to those candidates who unfortunately didn’t meet the entry requirements on results day but later met the requirements following the U turn.

11. How many conditional deferred offers were given out as a result of exams being cancelled to those who’s CAG’s still didn’t meet the entry requirements? I am referring only to those candidates who wished to sit the Autumn exams

12. In relation to question 11: how many of these conditional deferred offers have turned to unconditional as a result of the candidate achieving the required grades in the Autumn exam series?

13. As a result of all these deferred offers ( the ones normally given in March 2020 and the ones given after results day), how many places do you have available for 2021 entry as of March 2021 (before this years offers have been given out)?

14. What interview score was required in order to be made an offer and what was the total score?*

15. What was the average interview score of all applicants interviewed?

For 2021 entry:

1. How many applicants applied with predicted A levels or equivalent?
2. How many applicants applied with achieved A levels or equivalent?**

3. How many applicants interviewed had predicted A levels or equivalent?
4. How many applicants interviewed had achieved A levels or equivalent?

5. How many conditional offers were given out for 2021 entry?
6. How many unconditional offers were given out for 2021 entry?

7. How many conditional deferred offers were given out for 2022 entry?
8. How many unconditional deferred offers were given out for 2022 entry?

9. What interview score was required in order to be made an offer and what was the total score?*

10. What was the average interview score of all applicants interviewed?

*I understand that the interview format has changed this year due to covid but I’d still like the data requested. Total score refers to the overall maximum score.

**Achieved A levels are those which meet the entry requirements (minimum AAA or equivalent).

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

Kelly Sparrow
