A102 2018 data

The request was refused by King's College London.

Dear King’s College London,

I am writing to request data on this year's application cycle.

Firstly, have any of the extra allocated medical spaces been assigned to the A102 course, or are they all going to the A100 course? In addition, how many spaces in total will there be on the A102 for UK students? How many offers will be given out for this select number of places?

Please may you also provide the average UKCAT score for all of this year's A102 applicants. I understand that KCL uses a hollistic approach, with the website saying you do not use a UKCAT cut off. From previous FOIs, it looks like for the 2017 entry cycle, no applicant was interviewed below 715, the top decile of the UKCAT. Will a similar system be in place this year? I.e will a UKCAT decile mark be required for interview?

Finally, how much is the personal statement used, both at interview and after interview stage?

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,
Miss Appleton

Dear Information Compliance,

Regarding the extra places, I believe King’s College is one of the UK medical schools receiving extra places for 2018 as part of Jeremy Hunt’s plan to add an extra 500 medical school places for 2018 entry, and a further 1,500 (I think) in the following years.

If KCL will not be having any extra places added then please do correct me.

Yours sincerely,

Miss Appleton
