Dear Bobby James,
Your request was received on 5 February 2018 and I am dealing with it under the terms of the Freedom
of Information Act 2000 (‘the Act’).
You asked:
I am writing to gain an insight into your acceptances for A level applicants (and re-applicants
specifically) who applied post-qualification in the last 3 admissions cycles. I would like to
request information for the following:
1) How many people applied after obtaining their actual A levels for medicine (A100) and how
many people were successful? Also, how many people reapplied after being unsuccessful for
the A100 course and how many were successful?
2) Of those who were successful could you tell their bmat scores in each section? Could you
also do the same for those unsuccessful. If this is not possible, could I get the average bmat
scores in each section for those successful and unsuccessful instead?
3) Could I also get the interview scores of successful applicants and unsuccessful candidates if
these are available? If not, could I find out the average successful interview score?
4) Finally, could I get the GCSE grades of all successful applicants.
The requested information, insofar as it is held, is attached. Information about interviews is not held; all
interview processes for entry to undergraduate degree courses at the University are set and managed
locally by each of the individual Colleges, each of which is a separate legal entity and public authority
under the Act. Please note that the attached document should not be copied, reproduced or used
except in accordance with the law of copyright.
If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your request and wish to make a
complaint or request an internal review of this decision, you should write to Dr Kirsty Allen, Head of the
Registrary’s Office, quoting the reference above, at The Old Schools, Trinity Lane, Cambridge, CB2

you are not content with the outcome of your review, you may apply directly to the Information

Qualification information has been anonymized, with each applicant assigned a dummy application

identifier.
Notes
GCSE
GCSE qualification information is supplied as declared by applicants through their UCAS application.
Applicants are flagged as post-qualified when they have completed three or more A Levels and have no

outstanding A Levels to complete. A Level data is provided by the relevant UK ABL. Where A Level data
is missing, this due to non-UK A Levels being taken by the applicant.
