Finance.FOI Requests, University College London

Dear Tera Inte-Revu,

Thank you for your request for information made under the Freedom of
Information Act (FOIA) 2000. I apologise for the delay in the provision of
this response.

We confirm that we do hold some information of the description specified
in your request; please see our response below.

Your request and our response

Please answer all the questions below as per the year 2024 for 2024-2025
entry. This is for the undergraduate medicine course, often called A100
(though potentially A10L or A106 or similar). Failing that, please answer
all the questions below as per the year 2023 for 2023-2024 entry.

I1) Please outline your use of A level predicted grades for home students,
if at all

We are only able to consider applications from students who meet our
minimum academic entry requirements either through completed
qualifications, or through their predicted grades.

Details of our entry requirements can be found within our prospectus:
[1]https://www.ucl.ac.uk/prospective-studen...

(2) Please outline your use of the SJT band, including the percentage to
which this is weighted post-interview if applicable

2024 will be the first year that UCL uses UCAT to select candidates for
interview. We therefore do not have any historical data that we can share
with applicants nor any means of knowing what the range of scores might be
for those applying to UCL and will therefore not be providing a “cut off”
score for selection to interview and are not able to guide applicants as
to a score that might achieve an interview.

Applications are first reviewed to ensure candidates meet our minimum
academic entry requirements at GCSE and A Level, as outlined within our
prospectus
[2]https://www.ucl.ac.uk/prospective-studen....
On receipt of UCAT scores in November, the total UCAT score and SJT score
will be used to rank candidates and to invite to interview.

Details of our selection procedure can be found on our website:
[3]https://www.ucl.ac.uk/medical-school/stu...

(3) Please outline your use of the personal statement and what this may
entail both for interview shortlisting and during the interview stage (if
applicable)

We do not read or score personal statements as part of our selection
procedure.

(4) Please outline the number of interviews, offers and applicants as home
students

Interviews – 991

Offers – 613

Applicants – 2105

(5) Please outline the number of interviews, offers and applicants as
international students

Interviews – 131

Offers – 55

Applicants – 871

(6) Please outline any factors considered in offer making and the %
weighting on each factor

Details of our selection procedure can be found here:
[4]https://www.ucl.ac.uk/medical-school/stu....
Offers are made based upon interview performance.
