Your request for information received on 12 June 2022 has now been considered. A response is provided
below.
Please may I request some information relating to Medical School Admissions to Liverpool Medical School for
the 2021/22 admissions cycle for Medicine please? I hope you can reply to the questions listed below.
What typical A Level/Advanced Highers subjects were studied by students invited to interview?
We do not routinely record individual subjects on our database. Our subject criteria for A-Levels: Grades
AAA to include Chemistry together with Biology, Physics or Maths, and a third academic subject. Please
see our guidelines for applicants offering GCSEs/Science-based A-Levels Admissions requirements. Our
criteria for Advanced Highers: Advanced Highers (SCQF level 7) in Chemistry and one of either Biology,
Physics and Maths at grades AA. See our guidelines for applicants offering Scottish Qualifications

What typical A Level/Advanced Highers predicated grades were invited to interview?
We no longer use predicted grades. This is in line with the recommendation from the Office for Students.
We wil , however, check subject requirements are met.
What was the applicant to interview ratio?
The applicant to interview ratio was 2.07.
What were the highest and lowest UCAT scores of the candidates that were successful in obtaining an
interview?
The highest and lowest UCAT interview scores for Home students invited to interview were 3430 and 2620
respectively.
What were the UCAT scores of applicants that were rejected before the interview?
Most Home students with a score of 2610 and below were rejected prior to the interview.
Were candidates invited to interview with Situational Judgement Band 4 invited to interview?
Applications from Home students with a Situational Judgement Band 4 were deemed unsuccessful and not
invited to interview.
How many widening access students were invited to interview?
795 applicants were invited to interview who were flagged using contextual data as widening participation
(WP) applicants. Of these applicants, 31 were identified as part of the Realising Opportunity Group or
Scholar Widening Access scheme and there was one further ROG/Scholar who was not flagged
contextual y in the system.
