The request was successful.

Dear University of Leeds,

I am making a request regarding the interview scores for applicants that have been interviewed for the 2013/2014 UCAS cycle.

1) What was the minimum interview score required to be offered a place/offer for the A100 Medicine course at Leeds?

2) Based on last year's statistics regarding admission to the A100 programme, approximately how many offers will you be giving to student for this year's cycle? (2014/2015)

Thank you very much. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours faithfully,

Martin K.

Jenny Foggin,

Dear Martin,

There was no minimum score as such either last year or this year post interviews. Since the introduction of the Mini Multiple Interviews for 2103 entry, and as there are now 8 stations that the candidates are interviewed at, the scores are more widely spread and therefore applicants are ranked. This is also necessary in order to work to the strict imposition by the Dept. of Health of a quota of students.

The figures for 2013 were:
Number interviewed from 3,515 - 512
Number of offers - 275 (ie top ranking 275)

The figures for 2014 are:
Number interviewed from 3 830 - 560
Number of offers - 286 (ie top ranking 286)

If the system remains the same, the pattern of interviews and offers is likely to remain the same.

I hope this is helpful, but if you need further information I can put you in touch with colleagues in the area who would be happy to discuss this.

If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your request and wish to make a complaint or request a review of our decision, you should write to or email directly Mr D Wardle, The University Complaints Officer, The University of Leeds, Leeds, LS2 9JT ([email address]). Further information about how the University manages Freedom of Information requests and about our complaints procedure is also available on our website (www.leeds.ac.uk).

If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision. Generally, the ICO cannot make a decision unless you have exhausted the review/complaints procedure provided by the University. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at: Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.

Best wishes,

Jenny
