A100 Medicine Admission Statistics

The request was successful.

Dear University of Southampton,

I am writing to you regarding admissions statistics for the Medicine course A100 at your university. The requests below are for the 2011/2012 cycle unless stated otherwise. I hope I can get the information in a machine readable format such as Excel or PDF. Thank you very much and I hope this is not too much trouble.

1) How many of the students admitted were studying A Levels?
2) How many of the students admitted were international?
3) For each applicant who was unsuccessful, can I get a list of their UKCAT score, their GCSE's, and predicted A Level results and subjects studied as well as any other criteria that was looked at and scored for selection.
4)For each applicant who was successful in obtaining an interview, can I get a list of their UKCAT score, their GCSE's, and predicted A Level results and subjects studied as well as any other criteria that was looked at and scored for selection.
5) How was the interview scored for any candidates interviewed? Was it a score out of 10 by each interviewer or anything along those lines?
6) I would also like any scoring or grading system used to assess
candidates and if a form or such is available to record the performance, I would also kindly request this. This specific request is for this years admission cycle, ie 2012/2013.
7) Can I also get details of successful and unsuccessful candidates that studied the IB and their various predicted results and UKCAT scores along with all other criteria looked at?

I'd like all of this information if possible to be in a spreadsheet or word format if possible. Thank you very much.

Yours faithfully,

Mr Choudhary

Dear University of Southampton,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of University of Southampton's handling of my FOI request 'A100 Medicine Admission Statistics'.

The response to my request has been delayed. I should have received a prompt reply by the 9th of November. The said date has passed now and I still do not have my information. I would like to remind the university of its legal obligation to respond to my requests within the time limit.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address:

Yours faithfully,

Mr Choudhary

Dear University of Southampton,

I would also like to remind the university that if I do not get a respond to my request by the end of the week, I will be reporting the university to the ICO because I have checked previous requests made to the university and most have been futile or the response was given many months after it should have been given. Hence, I believe an internal review will not do any good.

Yours faithfully,

Mr Choudhary

Foi, University of Southampton
