Dear F Johnston,
Your request was received on 11 February 2024 and I am dealing with it under the terms of the
Freedom of Information Act 2000 (‘the Act’).
You asked:
I would like to request the following information:
1. How many gap year applicants were there for the A100 Medicine course grouped by college
for all entry years from 2019-2024..
2. How many offers were made to gap year applicants for the A100 Medicine course grouped by
course for all entry years from 2019-2024.
3. What the average BMAT Score was for successful gap year applicants was for by college for
all gap year applicants for A100 course from 2019-2024 entry. All years can be put all in one
group if separating by individual years is not possible 4. How many deferred entry offer have
been made by each college for the A100 course for each admissions cycle from 2019-2024
entry. All years can be put all in one group if separating by individual years is not possible.
The requested information is attached. The University has aggregated the data into 2-year blocks to
prevent the risk of any individual being identified. In presenting the information in this way, the
University is engaging the exemption at section 40(3A)(a) of the Act because the release of the raw
data would breach the first data protection principle (the fair, lawful and transparent processing of
personal data) as set out in the UK General Data Protection Regulation. This part of section 40 confers
absolute exemption under the Act.
